After booking this session a few months ago, it seemed like a far ways away, but as usual … time flew and suddenly it was time! Darren and Renee are a fab couple, I had tons of fun hanging out with you guys and getting to know you… and I most certainly can’t wait to meet your little one in January! It was the first time in a long time that I did a session at my home, and I have to say I quite enjoyed it! (perhaps it was the fact my house wasn’t loud with kid noises…lol) We started off with the indoor belly shots and then headed out to a few spots within walking distance of my house. The weather held out for us… it started raining about 10 minutes after we finished.
Renee is a beautiful prego mama, with a gorgeous belly, awesome wardrobe (take note of the many changes!), and fabulous smile. She truly was so easy to photograph… I love my job! Darren was very patient, and it was neat to see how much these two are in love. Sigh. Did I mention I love my job?
So, let’s get on with the show here… the pics…
LOVE LOVE LOVE this new fabric Lisa picked up for me (thanks again!!) at Ikea the other day. It’s exactly what I was looking for… and Renee’s perfect belly makes this pic one of my faves of the session!
Raar!
Those lashes are seriously to die for!
Brrrrr… I’m cold looking at this pic. Renee was a trooper and had no problem shedding her jacket to get the shot
Okay, Darren was too…
some urban lovin’
such a happy, gorgeous mama
so across the road and over a bit from my house there is this pumpkin patch. i’ve been eyeing it since the pumpkins started turning orange, but have never once taken pics there since. it’s open, no shade, so anytime I’ve had the opportunity (until today!) it’s been way too sunny and bright… Now I know why I’ve always too, I heart these pics! Thanks for trudging through the rotten pumpkins and mud for these shots guys, it was definitely worth it, don’t you think?
i heart it.
Thanks again for coming out guys… hope you found it worth your time
We will be in touch, enjoy your weekend!
After rescheduling once due to rain, we thought it was going to happen again this past weekend, but the rain held out (all day even!) and along we went! The kids were troopers, because though it wasn’t raining it was certainly cold and windy… brrrr.
You guys are such a fun family, thanks so much for having me! What handsome young men you have, and watch out… Meagan’s going to be a heartbreaker (well, she already is!). I hope you enjoy your sneak peak as much as I’ve enjoyed looking through your pics
Aren’t they an adorable family? Love their interactions here… very real.

the men.

the pretty ladies

oooh, they are all too cute!!

what you don’t know is that the ground was wet… and they were hovering so they didn’t get soaked, but I think the end result was very worth it, don’t you?

isn’t this field rad? (yeah, you read that right, I just used the word rad)

Petra wanted a feet shot… and we got more than one
I loved Meagan’s happy face on this one…

what family or newborn post is complete without one crying baby shot… don’t you want to just go give her a snuggle?!

i heart heart heart this last one… perfect way to finish it off!

Tim and Petra, we’ll be in touch soon!
Before I start this post… just want to point you back to my Christmas card post… and point you to the pics of our little family on the green polka dot card. I wanted to (and edited the post now!) tell you all to go visit Rachel’s website. She is an amazingly talented photographer (and fabulous mentor!), and we had the pleasure of having a family session done by her this past August. I am just LOVING the pics… so nice to have some of all of us – since I’m usually on the other end of the camera! Thanks again Rachel
Here is the link to her blog post with more pics of us… a whole bunch of these pics are now gracing the walls of our home.
So, onto minisessions. We had gorgeous weather last Saturday, in between many days of rain! Couldn’t have asked for better. Great weather, great people, what else can I say
I’ll let the pics talk! Enjoy!
My dear sister and her fam started things off…

Then on to this fun, fun family!

pretty ladies… take after their pretty mama

watch out future daters of these girls… they have a dad and two older brothers to go through first

And last but not least, we finished off with this lovely couple…

LOVE LOVE the colors!

Thanks a lot to these three families for a fun time! Enjoy!
Pictured below are my 2009 Christmas card choices! If you’ve done a mini session with me you get to choose one of these designs for your 50 cards… so have fun choosing! A number of these lovely designs were done by my lovely cousin Tamsen of Creative Clicks Photography in Ontario, Canada. Any of the cards that have front and back also have the option of just coming as just the front. Also, the pics you see of me and my lovely family (the green polka dot card) were taken by the absolutely wonderfully talented Rachel of Rachel Ludwig Photography… isn’t she amazing?
If you’ve had a session in 2009 and would like to order Christmas cards with images from your session please email me… we’ll work something out!
If you are still interested in booking a session or mini session (might do another date) then please let me know ASAP!
Thanks

Remember this absolutely beautiful mama to be? Well, she is no longer a mama to be, but a mama! Chase entered this world a few weeks ago and I had the privilege of taking his first professional pics. It’s been fun to capture so many special times in Len and Char’s life, thanks guys! This session was a baby gift from a friend, isn’t that sweet?! If you’re looking for an idea for someone who just had a baby – ask me about gifting a session!
Without further ado, welcome Mr. Chase to this world. He was a trooper during the session… even found his finger (for some reason I didn’t grab any of those pics to post… super cute! might have to remedy that…) and calmed himself down. What a good boy!

What a munchkin!

with his yummy mummy

mmmm sweet little baby parts.

and what newborn posting is complete without a crying baby at the end? they all get to this point eventually…

Thanks for letting me come Char…. hope you will see longer nights soon!
For those hoping to book a session this fall for Christmas pictures and cards please let me know now! The end of November marks the cut off for Christmas cards and pictures, so please get in on time and book now, I’d love love love to have you
I’m a little behind thanks to this little nasty thing called the flu that has clung onto me for the last 5 days… grrrr. So, next week will be busy, stay tuned for a whole bunch of sneak peaks!
My mini session set today was a success, if there is a lot of interest in another one I might consider that, so feel free to ask!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend
Thanks goes to Lisa for letting me use her camera while mine is in the shop so that we wouldn’t miss out on getting some newborn shots of sweet Emily! Here she is, at 2 weeks old, and just as cute as ever.
Yep, she’s a bright eyed doll.

with her Mama.

ooooh i just want to snuggle her!

and of course, what would a newborn post be without some baby feet

I’ve had ENOUGH!!!!!!

Also, I have a few spots left in next week Saturday’s mini session set… email me if you’d like to have one of those spots!
Thanks for looking
I am so excited to share this shoot! These are beautiful people and very very dear to my heart! Even though this shoot was the one in which my beloved camera gave out on me, and we had to improvise with a couple different cameras, I am in love with how these pics turned out and how we were able to capture their family “essense”.
E and I go way back to 1st grade, I can say that she is my oldest friend that I am still in contact with. 20 something years later, 2 family moves across country later, 2 husbands and 6 kids (between us!) later… and we are still going strong. I admire E for the godly mom, wife and friend that she is, and I cherish our friendship so much.
Thank you guys for putting up with me and my camera issues, and for letting me into your world – not only for this photo shoot, but also through our friendship. I’m glad that you could come enjoy dinner with us afterward (how I managed to get that on the table I’m still not quite sure) and am already looking forward to next time! I hope you enjoy your sneak peak as much as I do
We’ll start it out with a fun family shot… I love how Naomi’s squished in the middle. Cute.

boys. old cars. can’t go wrong.

girls. pretty red door. again, can’t go wrong.

heart heart heart. SO them.

isn’t she lovely?!

funny silly girls…

better get used to it Liam…

goofy fun squooshy faces

the kiddos

Thank you Sun, for having the perfect placement in the sky for this picture.

That’s a wrap folks! Thanks for stopping by… come again soon!
This wonderful couple just celebrated 25 years of marriage, and to commemorate the occasion asked for some family pictures. I gladly obliged, and we were able to find a date that worked for everyone – surprising easily!
That part was easy. The actual start time of the session was about 2 hours after the original time, due to border line ups and a BIG BIG mistake I made (I will never ever forget my battery at home in the charger again!)…. but in spite of it all I’m SUPER excited about the shots we got, and hope they are too
Later that day my camera “broke down” and I am SO glad it didn’t happen during their shoot, with the battery disaster already taking up so much time.
I had so much fun with this session … and was reminded at how easy shooting adults is, I only had to pull out one lame joke
Thanks again guys… we’ll be in touch soon!
mmmm, fall colors… and lovely people… love it.

love me some good heels.

aren’t they adorable? they had no problem getting all cozy for me

i heart this shot.

more hearting.

good lookin’ bunch!

the sibs.

the parentals. adorable once again.

mom wanted some lamp post pics… i’m pretty sure this will suffice!

last but not least… one more family shot.

as you can tell by the amount of pics I posted… it was hard to pick favorites! lots of fun stuff.
Hope you enjoyed!
Oh, how I love these kids. They’re crazy and funny and cute and fun all in one! Noah just turned 2, so what better time to get some updated pics. You’ll notice that there are more pics of Chloe than Noah. Lets just say … while 2 years old is such a fun age (minus the body wrenching tantrums and strong desire for independence!!) it is also one of the hardest ages to photograph! But, we got him…
Look at me, I’m 2!

and I’m 3 and a half!

love it!

and a few more of Chloe girl…
