Everson, WA – VdG maternity pics
Yay for more babies! It seems like everywhere I go I see pregnant ladies and new babies… or maybe it’s just that I’m noticing it more, who knows
Regardless of the reason, I was reminded again today of how much I love what I do. It’s so easy to capture the excitement of new parents-to-be, and the anticipation. Greg and Lynette came down today for their maternity shots – and I was so excited about them I had to already blog
Lynette has a very sweet group of friends that purchased one of my packages for her – so here she is! She’s been photographed by the amazing Rachel Ludwig in the past, so I felt I had a lot to live up to, and I hope I’ve done it.
Greg and Lynette, I’m looking forward to seeing you again in a month or so – all the best in these last few weeks! Can’t wait to meet your new little one
I had a great time today, and hope you did too!
Beautiful mama-to-be…. with a little bit of urban fun. oh how i love my little town… so many fun places just waiting for me to come find
Yep, they’re cute.
I can’t get over how stunning Lynette’s eyes are… whew.
i might’ve gotten a little giddy when we spotted this tire swing…
I can’t do a maternity shoot without this shot…
36.5 weeks (I think) – and looking amazing.
i bought this fabric a long time ago with intentions of sewing something from it – but I think it serves wonderfully as a backdrop in the meantime
I could’ve posted SO many more, we have no shortage of good photos from today. Stay tuned, guys, for your slideshow in the [hopefully] near future!
PS I would love feedback on my new blogging format… are the colors weird? Rounded edges? Just trying it out
Thanks!
[b]ecker workshop – Vancouver, BC
Last week I had the privilege of attending a full day workshop put on by Becker of [b]school with Rachel, Andrea and Kristy. We learnt a lot, and had a ton of fun too
Pretty humbling to see a pro at work – WOW does he work fast!
He took a head shot of everyone there within about 10 minutes… pretty impressive. Here’s a group shot (can you find us?!), and my mug
Lynden, WA newborn photographer – Miss Rayelle
Remember this beautiful prego mama? Well, their sweet little girl arrived a few weeks ago and I got to photograph another precious bundle
She gave us a run for our money at first, but in the end she fell fast asleep and we got some fabulous sleeping shots… mmmm… love those!
Thanks again Darren and Renee for having me, and I hope you enjoy your sneak peak! She’s a beautiful little girl, congrats again on her arrival into your family!
Chillin’ on her quilt handmade for her by Mommy!
and what would a newborn post be without a foot shot?
how come rolls are only adorable on babies?
and… off to dreamland she goes…
could those lips be any more kissable?!
sigh.
so, so loved.
Hope you enjoyed your visit!
Everson, WA newborn photographer – Welcome Ty!
This little guy entered this world a few days after Christmas, and what a gift he is. He was welcomed lovingly into this world by his parents and eight older siblings. What a blessing and miracle – God is so good! I had the honor of coming and taking some pictures of Ty and his family, thank you B family for letting me in! Ty’s oldest brother was home for the holidays from college, which makes it even more special that we were able to capture them all together …. only a couple more weeks and Alec heads back.
This little guy doesn’t know what’s comin’…
Lots and lots of love going around for Mr. Ty.
I had a hard time picking faves… Ty was SUCH a trooper, he hardly made a peep for me! He made my job easy, I could do whatever I wanted to him and he complied. Now – if that trend continues… life will be easy for his parents! So fresh and new at not even a week old…. sigh… I heart babies.
“fearfully and wonderfully made…”
Ty’s new bedding matched my brown and blue hat perfectly
dry skin = proof of brand newness
Hi World!
Doesn’t she look AMAZING? even her kids were telling her how beautiful she looked
I’d say Ty’s pretty blessed, wouldn’t you?!
This year through my lens…..
In looking back and thinking about this year I realized how truly blessed I have been. ABP officially opened “shop” Jan 1st, 2009 – and it’s hard to believe that was already a year ago! The age old saying goes “time flies when you’re having fun”… cliche as it may be, it’s very true. Ultimately, I owe this last year of growth and success to my Father in heaven. It is only through Him that all things are possible!
To Eric – thank you for making it possible for me to spend many Saturdays off doing shoots, and never complaining when endless evenings were spent in front of the computer editing. You have been my biggest supporter and encourager – i Love you and Thank you!
To my friends and family – thank you for your help with babysitting etc, as well as your encouragement and support, it really does mean everything to me.
Lastly – to my clients – without you there would be no Alyssa Brown Photography, and I am so grateful for you! Thank you for allowing me to take part in your life, whether it be capture your newborn, your pregnancy, your family or your wedding… I appreciate it all! You should’ve received an email from me with a special Christmas offer – if you didn’t, please let me know!!
So, to end off the year I thought it only appropriate to share a “few” faves from this year… enjoy
While all of these pics might not be the best technically, they are all near and dear to my heart… and proof that this is a learning experience – and I still have so much to learn!
Wishing you a Merry Christmas, and may the joy of our Savior be with you in 2010.

Remember this little peanut? So tiny, so new… and not so tiny anymore! Here is Trey… 7.5 months later with his Mom, Dad and their well behaved dogs
I had the pleasure of photographing this wonderful family this past week in the middle of a rainy day – in which it held off for the hour we were shooting. Yay for that. They live out in the county on some beautiful property, so we took advantage of that and they just had to step out of their front door
Thanks again guys… it was so fun to catch up and see how much Trey has grown. What a big, happy, cute, healthy boy he is!
Gotta love those antlers!
i just had to laugh when the dog went right for Trey’s face…. yum!
cutie patootie! love his little puckered lips…
I loved the pics Rachel took of us walking from behind so much that it has inspired me to do some of each family session I do… and I always love how they turn out. Such a fun finish to a series….
Thanks again guys… I had fun, and hope you did too
We’ll be in touch soon about your cards!
Everson, WA maternity photographer – Darren and Renee
After booking this session a few months ago, it seemed like a far ways away, but as usual … time flew and suddenly it was time! Darren and Renee are a fab couple, I had tons of fun hanging out with you guys and getting to know you… and I most certainly can’t wait to meet your little one in January! It was the first time in a long time that I did a session at my home, and I have to say I quite enjoyed it! (perhaps it was the fact my house wasn’t loud with kid noises…lol) We started off with the indoor belly shots and then headed out to a few spots within walking distance of my house. The weather held out for us… it started raining about 10 minutes after we finished.
Renee is a beautiful prego mama, with a gorgeous belly, awesome wardrobe (take note of the many changes!), and fabulous smile. She truly was so easy to photograph… I love my job! Darren was very patient, and it was neat to see how much these two are in love. Sigh. Did I mention I love my job?
So, let’s get on with the show here… the pics…
LOVE LOVE LOVE this new fabric Lisa picked up for me (thanks again!!) at Ikea the other day. It’s exactly what I was looking for… and Renee’s perfect belly makes this pic one of my faves of the session!
Raar!
Those lashes are seriously to die for!
Brrrrr… I’m cold looking at this pic. Renee was a trooper and had no problem shedding her jacket to get the shot
Okay, Darren was too…
some urban lovin’
such a happy, gorgeous mama
so across the road and over a bit from my house there is this pumpkin patch. i’ve been eyeing it since the pumpkins started turning orange, but have never once taken pics there since. it’s open, no shade, so anytime I’ve had the opportunity (until today!) it’s been way too sunny and bright… Now I know why I’ve always too, I heart these pics! Thanks for trudging through the rotten pumpkins and mud for these shots guys, it was definitely worth it, don’t you think?
i heart it.
Thanks again for coming out guys… hope you found it worth your time
We will be in touch, enjoy your weekend!
Lynden, WA Family photographer
After rescheduling once due to rain, we thought it was going to happen again this past weekend, but the rain held out (all day even!) and along we went! The kids were troopers, because though it wasn’t raining it was certainly cold and windy… brrrr.
You guys are such a fun family, thanks so much for having me! What handsome young men you have, and watch out… Meagan’s going to be a heartbreaker (well, she already is!). I hope you enjoy your sneak peak as much as I’ve enjoyed looking through your pics
Aren’t they an adorable family? Love their interactions here… very real.

the men.

the pretty ladies

oooh, they are all too cute!!

what you don’t know is that the ground was wet… and they were hovering so they didn’t get soaked, but I think the end result was very worth it, don’t you?

isn’t this field rad? (yeah, you read that right, I just used the word rad)

Petra wanted a feet shot… and we got more than one
I loved Meagan’s happy face on this one…

what family or newborn post is complete without one crying baby shot… don’t you want to just go give her a snuggle?!

i heart heart heart this last one… perfect way to finish it off!

Tim and Petra, we’ll be in touch soon!
Lynden, WA family photographer – Christmas mini-sessions
Before I start this post… just want to point you back to my Christmas card post… and point you to the pics of our little family on the green polka dot card. I wanted to (and edited the post now!) tell you all to go visit Rachel’s website. She is an amazingly talented photographer (and fabulous mentor!), and we had the pleasure of having a family session done by her this past August. I am just LOVING the pics… so nice to have some of all of us – since I’m usually on the other end of the camera! Thanks again Rachel
Here is the link to her blog post with more pics of us… a whole bunch of these pics are now gracing the walls of our home.
So, onto minisessions. We had gorgeous weather last Saturday, in between many days of rain! Couldn’t have asked for better. Great weather, great people, what else can I say
I’ll let the pics talk! Enjoy!
My dear sister and her fam started things off…

Then on to this fun, fun family!

pretty ladies… take after their pretty mama

watch out future daters of these girls… they have a dad and two older brothers to go through first

And last but not least, we finished off with this lovely couple…

LOVE LOVE the colors!

Thanks a lot to these three families for a fun time! Enjoy!
